After missing Uncharted for so long, I am delighted to play it again. The gameplay is engaging and rewarding and the environments are beautiful. And with an installation of a Uncharted : Legacy of Thieves Collection game and expansion pack, it’s even more fun to dive into the silliness that Nathan Drake gets wrapped up in.
Though PC players might be more familiar with Lara Croft’s tomb-raiding escapades, there are some significant differences in Uncharted that make it worth your while. For starters, Lara claims that she’s just an archaeologist while Drake and his crew are self-confessed thieves, mercenaries, and rogues with silver tongues and dark pasts. His adventures also have a profound effect on history–destroying temples at a time–but in the end he always does the right thing which means he ends up exactly as broke as when he started. And Uncharted 4 is the best of all his games.
If you’re still not sure how amazing this game is, remember that it received near-universal acclaim on its original release back in 2016. It was the perfect ending to Nathan Drake’s story, as he gave up his life of adventure and had a normal life with his partner Elena. Every adventure does eventually come to an end though, and when Nate’s brother Sam suddenly shows up and asks for help with one last mission, Nate can’t resist returning to his roots. Now, naturally things don’t go according to plan.
Funny Sam gets the spotlight, but Elena’s role is important. She represents the life he could lead if he gave up on dangerous travels around the world.He needs adventures, misinterpreting them as getting in the way. It’s a beautifully crafted emotional conflict that leads to quiet moments, including a still-perfect scene of them playing Crash Bandicoot together.
All that action has aged beautifully. And rival treasure hunters and their ruthless band of mercenaries are about to put an end to your adventures. It was originally designed for a controller, but as someone who plays a lot of FPS games, I prefer to use the mouse to shoot and aim in general combat sections. They remain as exciting and sometimes tricky as ever, needing to jump from cover to cover, time their shots perfectly and not be outwitted. gives you more control over where bullets and grenades land.

Stealth offers an alternative to chaotic firefights that saves ammo and offers satisfying moments, allowing you to sketch your master plan while hiding in tall grass. Do these plans always work? Sure, they rarely do. Most of my covert efforts turned into firefights or forced me to flee from eagle-eyed mercenaries. is possible.
When not trying to eliminate competition, they spend most of their time climbing, scrambling, or hanging from precarious perches. The climbing mechanic features a brilliant series of tactile puzzles that make much better use of the environment and architecture than recent Assassin’s Creeds. Though the routes are linear, there are still moments where you get to decide your own path. In a level set in an Italian mansion, you have to sneak from roof to roof in order to avoid being caught by guards that are chasing you around. The game gives you opportunities so that you can pick which path suits you best rather than picking one predetermined route. This lets you feel smart as you evade your pursuers and then hopeless when you get caught. Deadly traps also complicate these rooftop climbing puzzles. My favourite was the Lost Legacy’s giant mechanical statues- when the right path is chosen, they’ll miss and not kill me with their instruments of destruction. I loved this aspect of gameplay because it was more challenging and tense than any other brain teaser type I had seen previously. I played three rounds of this towards the end, and by the time I was finished it made me a pro even though I was tense at some points due to overthinking my next moves for these tricky brains teasers. It’s completely ridiculous and campy in execution, but in my opinion this is what makes it even better: The Uncharted series is all about epic adventures so why not have an epic game that feels campy?
Starting off at the bottom of the map will give you access to a Jeep. You can use it to get around, or you can use its winch to grab and pull objects. The Jeep in Uncharted 4 is arguably the most fun-to-drive vehicle in the entire game because of how it handles different terrain, but it’s also an exciting ride when you’re on a steep downhill slope. This isn’t something that should be missed out on if you’re playing this game for the first time. It may have come out six years ago, but it’s still unparalleled in terms of navigation and control. Every chapter starts with an introduction sequence that quickly establishes what type of location or ecosystem we’ll be exploring, giving players a sense of discovery with every new environment they explore across Scotland, Madagascar, Italy – there are many more! Uncharted ‘s visuals are sharper and more detailed than ever before on PC; it looks absolutely stunning. Years may have passed but this series clearly shows no signs of age whatsoever.
Paradise Found
Uncharted 4 is the satisfying conclusion to Nathan Drake’s story. However, The Lost Legacy is an amazing option for those looking for another high-stakes adventure. It features a different perspective on what it means to be an adventurer, with Nadine and Chloe, Drake’s former companion and adversary respectively.
Uncharted is one of the most famous video game series, and the first chapter of The Lost Legacy kept that reputation alive.
The Lost Legacy tells you the story of two women who are thrust together by destiny. They grow to rely on and love each other, all while carrying the heavy burden of their family’s legacies on their shoulders. Throughout the game, they do everything they can to overcome the odds stacked against them and, even when they’re strangers at first, they feel like true friends by the end. You come to enjoy watching these two women become close companions and share their stories with each other. With such a well-written dialogue between them, you want more–more dialogue exploring their pasts, gossip about what happened between Chloe and Nathan when he was still single (especially now that he’s married), or how they came to be tough women for whom nothing is impossible any longer.
It’s a very different experience after spending hours with likable Drake, who we’ve spent countless hours exploring and getting to know. Drake’s Fortune might be a little older, but it has plenty of strengths and features that make it a great game. There’s freeform exploration, and even the ability to drive around in a jeep in India and hunt down treasure tokens for a mysterious reward. It takes your time with your two heroes, soaking in all the sights, but you can also collect all the treasure hidden away in the river basin.
The Uncharted series has always had a lot of enemies and obstacles, but fortunately it’s also been filled with loyal friends. In this game, our two heroes are just getting to know each other, but they’re already helping each other up the walls and calling out when one of them falls behind. Drake’s friends in previous games have mostly been mentors or girlfriends, so it’s great that here the two characters grow closer as friends over the course of the game.
Despite being over a decade old, the game still has plenty to show on modern hardware. Initially I was a little worried with my 2070 when it bogged down on the Ultra preset, so I had to lower it to High, with DLSS set to Quality. There were still occasional stuttering issues. To solve this problem, I would recommend playing the game on an SSD drive- this should make for smoother gameplay.
Conclusion
The Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection is an excellent addition to Sony’s PC games library, regardless of whether you are playing the games for the first time or replaying them. Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy are some of the best that the last generation of consoles had to offer, comparable to modern classics such as God of War and Persona 5, and still worth your time. I have missed Uncharted, and I am glad that I had the chance to revisit Nathan Drake’s last journey.
