Call of Duty Warzone New Map

Activision has recently dropped a tantalizing hint about an upcoming Call of Duty: Warzone map, set to be fully revealed during the Call of Duty Next event on October 5. Enthusiasts are speculating that it could be a revamped edition of the classic Verdansk map.

The popular free-to-play battle royale game is preparing for a transformation coinciding with the launch of the next mainline installment, Modern Warfare 3.

The forthcoming livestream event will not only showcase multiplayer modes from Modern Warfare 3 but will also provide an exclusive glimpse of updates for Call of Duty: Mobile.

In an exciting development, Activision has shared a first look at a fresh Call of Duty: Warzone map, scheduled to debut alongside Modern Warfare 3 in November. This teaser is a prelude to the grand unveiling during the Call of Duty Next event on October 5, where the map will be showcased in all its glory, among other exciting announcements.

Originally launched in early 2020, Warzone quickly became a flagship battle royale offering for the Call of Duty franchise. However, it was succeeded by Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 in late 2022, leading to the original game’s server shutdown in September. Despite this, the free-to-play battle royale title is gearing up for significant changes to coincide with the arrival of the next mainline Call of Duty installment.

One of the most eagerly anticipated changes is a brand-new map, recently teased by Activision on social media. Shared on Twitter, the teaser image showcased a harbor on a wide canal leading up to a city. Accompanying the teaser was a promise of a full map reveal during the October 5 Call of Duty Next event, which will include live gameplay footage and a comprehensive breakdown of new game features by Raven Software, the subsidiary co-developing Call of Duty: Warzone alongside Infinity Ward.

Although no official details have been released, some keen-eyed fans have speculated that the teaser hints at the return of the original Call of Duty: Warzone Verdansk map. While the original map featured different elements, the canal’s curve in the newly revealed port bears a resemblance to Verdansk’s topography, suggesting a possible connection.

Activision has also hinted at Verdansk’s return in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. However, this is the first indication that a new iteration of the map may be included in one of Warzone’s upcoming seasons. In addition to shedding light on this matter, the Call of Duty Next livestream event will feature previews of multiplayer modes from Modern Warfare 3 and a sneak peek at what’s in store for Call of Duty: Mobile. The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 9 AM PT on October 5.

Currently, Call of Duty: Warzone is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
