Season of the Deep introduces several impressive rewards to the Trials pool. For shader enthusiasts, there’s a magnificent golden shader, the Glorious Patina, up for grabs during this multiplayer event. Additionally, Trials now offers new Exotic cosmetic gear, including a Ghost shell, ship, and Sparrow. The Glorious Patina shader is exclusively available to players who achieve a Flawless victory during Season 21. Furthermore, the weapon pool has been updated to include The Messenger pulse rifle and the Unexpected Resurgence glaive as potential prizes.

An emblem is also being added to the game, but to obtain it, players must earn a Flight of the Pigeon medal for every win and open the Flawless chest at the Lighthouse. This season, Trials introduces an introductory quest designed to provide a proper tutorial for new players. Completing this quest will reward players with the Astral Horizon Trials Shotgun.

To enhance the Trials experience, the Trials Passage offerings have undergone improvements. The Passage of Wealth now grants +75 Trials reputation for each victory and provides an additional bonus based on your current major rank in Trials, up to a total of +150. The Passage of Mercy now forgives two losses if you haven’t achieved a Flawless run for the week. After obtaining Flawless, it reverts to a condition where a single loss on each card is forgiven after resetting.

The core game mode for this season’s Trials is Dominion, which Bungie selected due to its faster pace, promotion of more varied engagements, and healthier sandbox variety. Notably, Trials weapons possess the Alacrity Origin Trait, offering increased aim assist, reload speed, stability, and range when you’re the last surviving member of a fireteam or playing solo. Players also have the option to switch to the Crucible Origin trait, One Quiet Moment, which significantly enhances reload speed when reloading outside of combat.

Trials begins each week from the Friday daily reset at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET and concludes at the weekly reset at the same time on Tuesday. Don’t forget to visit Saint-14 in the Tower to acquire a Trials card, which determines certain bonuses, such as milestone rewards and loss forgiveness. The ultimate objective in the Trials of Osiris is for you and your fireteam members to achieve a flawless run, winning seven matches without any losses.

If you manage to go flawless, you will earn a trip to the Lighthouse and receive special rewards, including the coveted Adept weapons. These weapons possess additional stat bonuses, making them highly desirable. Your Trials Passage, the card purchased from Saint-14 that grants access to the mode and tracks your wins, does not track your losses. As a result, you can continue playing and earning rewards, even if you miss out on achieving a flawless run.
