Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Game Mode "Cutthroat"

Exciting news from Sledgehammer Games as they introduce a fresh and thrilling game mode for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, known as “Cutthroat.”

The announcement came during the recent CoD: Next event on October 5, where Sledgehammer Games delved into the highly-anticipated multiplayer shooter. They also made significant announcements about other upcoming titles like Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, set to launch early in 2024.

Leading up to the event, it was already known that Modern Warfare 3 would boast an impressive lineup of 12 game modes, featuring 20 playable maps at launch. Impressively, 16 of these maps have been sourced from Modern Warfare 2 (2009), and an additional 12 brand-new 6v6 core maps are planned for post-launch.

What truly set the crowd abuzz was the unveiling of the all-original game mode, “Cutthroat,” which will debut in Modern Warfare 3. Although details are currently scarce, we do know that Cutthroat is a 3v3v3 action-packed mode set on core multiplayer maps. In this mode, players must make every shot count as they’re given only one life per round. The primary objective? Eliminate enemy teams or capture the overtime flag to secure victory.

Sledgehammer Games also discussed the return of fan-favorite modes, including Ground War, a large-scale multiplayer mode, and War Mode, which originally featured in Call of Duty: WWII. These modes promise intense linear engagements, immersive battle progression, and strategic environmental objectives.

But the excitement doesn’t end there. Sledgehammer confirmed that Modern Warfare 3 will introduce ranked multiplayer in Season One, a collaboration with Treyarch that aims to bring the experience up to modern standards.

Mark your calendars for the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 on November 10, available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
